How do I know if family therapy is right for me?
Family therapy may be a good fit if you feel like the same patterns keep showing up in your family. It may be conflict, difficulty communicating, boundary issues, unresolved hurt, or feeling stuck in the same roles you’ve had for years. You don’t have to be in a family “crisis” to benefit from therapy. Sometimes the goal is simply to understand your family dynamics better, improve how you relate to one another, or create healthier patterns for yourself and your children.

Family therapy can also be helpful when you recognize that an issue isn’t just about one person, but the way everyone interacts. As an LMFT specializing in family dynamics, I look at the bigger picture: how your family history, communication patterns, expectations, boundaries, and past experiences may be influencing what is happening today. Therapy can help you understand these patterns without assigning blame, all while developing more effective and intentional ways of relating.
If you’re wondering whether family therapy could be helpful for your situation, you don’t have to figure that out on your own. Book a session with me, and we can talk through what’s happening in your family and determine whether family therapy, or another approach, would be the best fit for you.
